Questions About Sims 2 Double Deluxe!?

Okay, so..my sims is about 10 days from becoming an elder, her and my other sim tried for a baby, and succeeded ( i know that because it won't show up anymore) And, its been about 2 or three days, and she hasn't gotten any bigger (hasn't even shown that she is pregnant) but whenever its time for her to go to work this message pops up "Im to pregnant to go to work, someone as pregnant as me should stay home and rest." she wouldn't go to work, she doesn't throw up, and she isn't getting bigger...im wondering if its because shes gonna have twins, because shes to old to get pregnant, or there is something wrong with my game....PLEASE HELP!
