What is your motivation to succeed in school?

I know this sounds wrong but the reason I want to do well in school is so that I can impress girls. Not just girls though, but people in general. I enjoy having people realize that I am smart. My friends and family always tell me that this is the wrong way to think and I agree but I can't think of any other reason why I would want to do well in school (other than you know, get a good job), but a lot of people who don't succeed in school still turn out fine. So for those of you who do well in school, what's your motivation?
